Our Mission

Our mission is to help our clients live meaningful lives. We achieve this aim by taking a broad and comprehensive approach to wealth management.

Our clients rely on us to generate financial plans that match their goals and tailor investment portfolios that align with their plans. In addition, we coordinate a myriad of actions in financial areas such as tax planning, college savings, identifying insurance needs, effective charitable gifting, and concentrated stock planning, just to name a few.

Our clients tell us our comprehensive approach allows them to relax and be confident so that they can focus on living their lives.

Our Core Beliefs

Fiduciary Obligation

Our service model is built on being a Fiduciary to our clients, meaning we are required to act in your best interest and proactively identify and disclose conflict–always. Our fee structure is based on a percentage of assets under management. We charge no commissions, sell no proprietary products, and accept no compensation from anyone other than the client.

Investing Philosophy

We focus on investing, not speculating. Our clients know, or come to know, the difference. We eschew stock picking and market timing—what we call speculating—instead, we focus on investing by building portfolios using broadly diversified, low-cost, tax-efficient index funds in tailored allocations that align with each client’s financial plan.

Disciplined Process

We believe successful investing, and a successful investing experience is centered on process, not emotion. Our process starts with a plan and moves to a portfolio designed to support the plan. Over time we manage the portfolio with ongoing actions such as periodic rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting in an attempt to optimize return while ensuring the plan and portfolio remain aligned.

Portfolio Structure

We are long-term optimists: equity markets generally move higher over time as companies grow their earnings through human ingenuity and execution. At the same time, we are short-term cautious (not pessimists, just cautious) as markets can turn quickly and stay depressed for a while.

Our portfolio approach embodies both viewpoints: optimism and caution, such that near term capital needs are typically invested with a focus on safety, while longer term capital requirements are invested with a focus on growth.

Costs & After-Tax Returns

Costs play a big role in the net return of a portfolio. This includes costs to own investments, trade investments, and the tax costs of inefficient investments. We are obsessive about minimizing these costs on behalf of our clients to help maximize returns over time.

Your after-tax return is what you spend in retirement. With a CPA on staff, we are rigorous in optimizing your after-tax return, not just through your portfolio design, but also through strategic actions such as mega-after tax contributions to your 401K plan, Roth IRA conversions, deferred compensation evaluation, social security planning, and family gifting, to name a few.

How We Deliver on Our Core Beliefs

High-Touch Service

We communicate with our clients through periodic planning and portfolio reviews. However, when it comes to a big life event such as job change or home purchase, we might connect as many as 10 -20 times during a short stretch. If it’s financially related, we’re typically consulted, as we believe our coaching and expertise can add great value during these transitions.

Integrated Approach

Our integrated approach across investment advising and financial planning strives to align your financial plan with your investment portfolio. When you work with Perspective, no assets are left out of the conversation.

Legacy Planning

For a majority of our clients, we work with younger family members who are just beginning their financial journey. Effective financial decisions and saving during early work years has the largest impact on long-term financial security.

Education

We approach client conversations from the perspective of learning. It is our intention that clients come away from interactions with a better understanding and grasp of the topics of discussion. Most often this entails framing discussions in simple to understand concepts and terms.

Mobile App

Clients can stay abreast of their portfolio through a mobile app on their phone, making it super easy to view all assets, at any time – whether it be 401K accounts, IRA accounts, and education savings accounts.

Relax and be Confident

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: In three ways. First, by helping clients envision and discover the life they wish to live, today and in retirement, as well as the legacy impact they wish to have on their family and their community. Second, by creating the financial game plan and portfolio structure to support their unique vision so that they turn their attention to what matters most and worry less about their portfolio. Third, by being a life coach to clients as they navigate the ups and downs and seemingly never-ending threshold crossings in life.

  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: Enjoying nature with my wife and twin daughters. Fishing, running, and reading, as well as volunteering in the community with several non-profits including the YMCA and the Idaho Youth Ranch.

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: I meet clients where they are, help identify what is important to them, and then develop a strategic plan to get there. I believe financial peace of mind is priceless. By keeping compassion and professionalism top of mind, I help clients stay informed and confident that they are on their right track. I am committed to finding the little details that can make a big difference in each relationship.
  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: My greatest joy comes from spending time with my wife and three children. Whether we are traveling, boating, biking, hiking, cheering each other on in various sporting activities, trying a new restaurant, hosting a BBQ, or working on a home project, so long as we are together. I also have the best of friends that always have me looking forward to our next adventure. I’m active in our community and love to coach youth sports and volunteer whenever possible.

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: Our innate desire in life is to spend the time we have on the things that bring us happiness and fulfillment, not on those creating discomfort. And for many, personal finances is often a big source of worry and stress. By identifying and understanding what matters most, building and implementing a tailored-financial plan to deliver on those goals, and forging a deep personal relationship along the way, my main objective is to bring clients peace of mind so that they can live life on their own terms, and not worry about everything outside of their control.
  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: Although we have no children yet, you can usually find my husband, Troy, and I spoiling our fur-child Beau (AKA our 10-year-old Labradoodle), spending time with close family and friends, binge watching the latest series on Netflix (or HBO or Peacock or whatever new streaming subscription), or traveling to new places. I also enjoy playing a competitive game of volleyball (if my knees agree to cooperate), getting a good sweat on at Orange Theory, trying to find out whodunit in the latest psychological thriller I am reading, and taking advantage of the growing food scene here in Boise.

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: By bringing strategic direction to their goals and ambitions. Our attitudes and beliefs about money shape the way we live, plan, and dream. By helping clients approach their finances from a place of intention and clarity, we are able to utilize tools that circumvent the stress and overwhelm generally associated with money. Clients experiencing how empowering and freeing a clear financial picture can be is the greatest reward I could hope for.
  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: Quality time with family is time well spent in my book. My husband James and I often visit our hometown of Idaho Falls where both of our families currently live. Together we enjoy playing board and card games, trying new restaurants, and travelling new places. We consider investing in real estate to be a fun “side-hustle” of ours and have done multiple major house flips in different states. A short stint living in Buffalo, NY, led us to becoming avid Bills fans for life. As alumni of Utah State and Boise State University, I also look forward to supporting their athletic teams each year.

HANNAH WEAVER, CFP, CPA

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: To live a life of meaning may be a universal human aspiration, yet the path of actualization looks different for each of us. My goal is to free you from the burdens and complexities of financial life to allow you to focus on what truly matters to you. I am here to empower you through education and reduce your stress and anxiety. Life can be crazy. We help you plan for the unpredictable so that you feel confident on your unique path to a meaningful life.
  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: I’ll admit it – I’m professionally trained as a CPA, but also am a romantic. I was a ballerina in a past life. I currently spend my time reading novels that tug at your heartstrings, attempting to learn Argentine Tango, balancing budgets to the penny, and getting lost in the woods somewhere. Travel is important to me. Family is the most important. I’ve watched every Seinfeld episode more times than I’d like to admit. I’ve been told my spirit age is 75 and I’m at peace with that. A typical day for me is cooking great food, taking a barre class, and listening to music.

  • How I Help Clients Live Meaningful Lives: By collaborating with advisors to provide support and assistance in any area needed. This allows them to focus their efforts more directly on client’s financial situation without worrying about operational functions.  I strive to serve both clients and advisors by creating efficient processes that result in seamless administrative experiences.
  • How I Spend My Time Outside Perspective Wealth Partners: Most of my days are spent with my husband, David, and pup, Friday. We find joy in spending time outside (hiking, camping, running, pickleball), eating lots of really good food (mostly street tacos), and rewatching The Office for the 100th time. I also enjoy traveling abroad, experiencing new cultures, and spending quality time with friends and family.

I also spend many hours walking our 2 dogs through our neighborhood.
